Special Motorbike From Cambodia Border Riding Through Laos. We will first drive to the Khon Phapheng waterfall, from where we continue our travel across the Mekong River to visit the World Heritage Site ‘Wat Phou’. We will ride on a dirt road passing dense bamboo groves and jungle, and many small river have to be crossed, riding along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. The ride is a bit tough, with stream crossings, trees blocking the trail, and lots of bamboo stretching out onto our way. Beside the road you will see a lot of bomb craters. ..
Day 01 : Cambodia border – Veune Kham – Khon Phapheng – Wat Phou – Kiet Ngong( 122Km)
Morning group meets and is welcome by our team in Veun Kham at the Lao-Cambodian border. We first drive to the Khon Phapheng waterfall, from where we continue our travel across the Mekong River to visit the World Heritage Site ‘Wat Phou’. In the afternoon we ride to the nice Kingfisher Eco-lodge near Ban Kiet Ngong, where we will stay overnight. Elephants will replace our bikes for a while going up to Phou Asa. This high plateau with some ancient ruins offers wonderful views of the Xepian National Protected Area and its extensive wetlands.

Day 02 Kiet Ngong – Attapau – Salavan(291Km)
The second day is a ride on a dirt road passing dense bamboo groves and jungle, and many small river have to be crossed. We arrive in Attapeu around lunch time. We then head towards Salavan province. On the way we will stop at Xekatangtok waterfall, one of the most beautiful in the Dong Hua Sao National Protected Area, before arriving in Salavan town in the afternoon.

Day 03 Salavan – Tum Lan – Sepon(219Km)
After crossing a smaller river by a ferry to Tum Lan village, we start riding along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. The ride is a bit tough, with stream crossings, trees blocking the trail, and lots of bamboo stretching out onto our way. Beside the road you will see a lot of bomb craters. At Tad Hai we load the bikes on a long-tail boat crossing the Xe Bangfai river and ride to Sepon for stay over night.

Day 04 Sepon - Nakhai - Lak Xao ( 267 km )
Our destination today is Lak Xao (“Km 20”). In the morning we ride on a paved road for 45 km to Muang Phin, from here start riding on dirt road through Phou Vieng National part until crossing Se Noi river and then riding on the road to Mahaxay district for lunch. After lunch we continue our ride, passing the gigantic Nakai-Nam Theun 2 dam. This part of the road is still under construction. We will arrive in Lak Xao before sunset.

Day 05 Lak Xao – Konglor Cave – Paksan(192Km)
Riding along road No. 8 to the famous Khonglor cave. We (temporarily) exchange our motorbikes for long-trail boats to get deeper into the 7.5 km long cave, where we are surrounded by countless stalactites and stalagmites. After this round trip in the darkness of this huge cave we return to our bikes and head toward Paksan. On the way we will stop from time to time to enjoy the stunning views of the limestone formations of the Phou Hin Boun National Protected Area before reaching Paksan.

Day 06 Paksan – Thaphom – Phonsavanh(230Km)
An early departure today is recommended. The tough ride today is taking us through remote areas and deep forest, were villagers still live almost untouched by modern civilization. River crossings are to be expected, especially in the wet season. Our lunch will served at a local restaurant in Ban Thaphom. The rough ride on this beautiful trail continues in the afternoon. Before arriving in Phonsavanh, we will visit the Plain of Jars just 6 km before the town.

Day 07 Phonsavanh – Nam Neun – Vieng Thong( 220Km)
After breakfast, we ride in isolated mountain areas and today’s destination is Vieng Thong. We stop at Nam Neun for some cold drinks. From Nam Neun we will ride along the road No.1 through the Nam Et National Protected Area to Vieng Thong and arrive there in the afternoon.

Day 08 Vieng Thong – Nongkhiau – Muang Ngoi – Nongkhiau( 158Km)
We continue traveling along road No.1 to Ban Nongkiau. on the way we will stay at Viengkham for have some cold drink at the same time enjoy take photo with Khmu minority in the village, we will arrive in Nongkhiau at around lunch time. In the afternoon we will embark on a motorboat roundtrip upstream the Nam Ou river embedded in a beautiful limestone scenery and return to Nongkhiau before sunset.

Day 09 Nongkhiau – Oudomxay – Boun Tai( 244Km)
After breakfast, we ride along Road No.1C to the main Road No.13 north, turning right into direction of Oudomxay, where we stop for lunch. Then it’s going-on on a paved road for about 50 km, followed by a muddy road for about 73 km to Ban Boun Tai. Overnight at the local guesthouse.

Day 10 Boun Tai – Na Mor – Nale( 134Km)
The ride to Na Mor is tough and far from any tourist route. The trail in hilly terrain is narrow, muddy and rocky, and heavily curved. Lunch will be served at the local restaurant in a village called Na Mor. The next is a fun ride to Nale with beautiful views all around. On the way we take the opportunity to stop for photos and see the life styles of the different hill tribe people. Overnight in Ban Nale

Day 11 Nale – Vieng Phoukha – Houay Xai – Golden Triangle – Houay Xai( 195Km)
After breakfast we explore for a while the area around Nale before riding to the Nam Ha National Protected Area and up to the top of Phou Vieng Mountain. From here we can have great views of the Nam Ha NPA. We then ride back down, cross some streams and reach Vieng Phouka. From then on we are back on a paved road leading to Houy Xai (Lao-Thai border). On the way we stop at the view point at Ban Don Chai. Once in Houy Xai we make an excursion to the Golden Triangle and come back on the same trail to Houy Xai, where we stay overnight.

Day 12 Houy Xai – Pak Tha – Pak Khop – Hongsa( 192Km)
In the morning we ride along Mekong River to Pak Tha village where we will load the bikes on a boat and sail downstream to Pak Kop village, which will take about 3 hours. We then saddle our bikes again, heading to Hongsa on a hilly, dusty and cured road, where we finally arrive in the later afternoon.

Day 13 Hongsa – Luang Prabang ( 130Km)
The way from Hongsa to the World Heritage Town Luang Prabang gives us fantastic views of the valleys and mountains. We pass numerous villages before crossing the Mekong River small ferry in Tha Deua and arrive in Luang Prabang at lunch time. The afternoon is free for exploring the town by yourself.

Day 14 Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves – Kuang Si Waterfall ( 95 km )
The last day’s easy ride brings us north of the town past scenes of rural riverside life, until reaching Ban Pak Ou where we take a boat to cross the Mekong river to visit the famous Pak Ou Caves at the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong rivers. The two caves in a limestone massive limestone face are filled with hundreds of Buddha images, which have been deposited here over the centuries by devote worshippers. We ride back to town for lunch and then head to the springs that feed Tad Kuang Xi waterfall at the other side of the town. The crystal clear water is full with big sacred fish. After descending from the top of the beautiful waterfall, then we spent some time bathing and relaxing at the turquoise pools below. We return to Luang Prabang and conclude the day climbing up the Phousi hill before sunset. Farewell dinner with your team and group .
